Do you find yourself leaning into distraction, even in moments that are pleasurable?

🌼 What about when you’re watching a movie, and you can’t help looking at your phone?

🌼 Or you’re in a beautiful setting in nature, and you find yourself pulling out a podcast or wanting to call a friend?

🌼 Or maybe you’re enjoying a moment and (*cough*) you start thinking about what lessons you could (*cough*) share with your audience? (not me at all. lol)

These are all ways we disassociate from our experience. We distract ourselves from our bodies. We pull away from the luminescence and the magic of life.

Now while it makes logical sense that we might look to distraction in order to avoid something uncomfortable, why on earth would we want to avoid a pleasurable something?

And what's more, what do we risk missing out on, when we disassociate? 

Hint: it's magic. Magic and self-knowledge and self-love and full life immersion is what we risk missing out on. 

So how do we realise when we're doing it, and what do we do instead? 

This episode was inspired by a personal moment of realisation. I hope it brings you some personal insight too.
